Your first visit to the Pella Opera House is one that you’ll never forget! Because it’s a new experience, you may be wondering what you should expect, wear, do, and more. Here is some information that will make your first visit to Opera House a memorable experience that you’ll hopefully want to repeat again and again.
Live performances are addicting—so prepare to get hooked!
Where is the best place to sit in the Opera House?
We always say, “There is no bad seat in the house!”
A lot of Opera House lovers enjoy sitting upstairs in the balcony because you can see the entire stage, and that makes a live performance extraordinary. But with only 324 seats in the house, there truly is not a bad seat anywhere!
Are any ticket discounts available?
Yes—there are a few options if you’re looking for discount tickets.
Student tickets are available through the Box Office; call (641) 628-8625 for more info.
Groups of 10 or more can save on tickets to the Opera House when they purchase through the Box Office.
You can also receive FREE tickets through your membership.
What should I wear?
Don’t be intimidated that you have to get dressed up to attend a show at the Opera House. We want you to be comfortable and enjoy your experience with us. As with any theatre, we encourage you to dress in layers so you can adjust to your perfect temperature.
What time should I arrive?
Our doors open 30 minutes prior to the show’s start time, and we recommend arriving then. This will give you plenty of time to pick up tickets, purchase and enjoy a drink at our concessions stand, and find your seats.
Downtown parking can be congested at times, please give yourself plenty of time to find parking.
Where should I park in downtown Pella?
There is street parking all along Franklin Street and East 1st Street.
There is also parking available in the parking lot on Liberty Street by the Public Safety Complex and on Washington Street (one block north of the Opera House).
Where do I pick up my tickets?
We recommend picking up tickets prior to the day of the performance to avoid lines, but will call is available at the Pella Opera House Box Office.
We are able to mail you your tickets, if they have been ordered 7 days prior to the event.
