PELLA OPERA HOUSE EVENT COORDINATOR (part-time)

The Pella Opera House Events Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing and implementing special events for the Pella Opera House. This position reports to the Executive Director and averages 25 hours per week.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develops new events for the Pella Opera House and work with existing events for fund and friend raising at the Pella Opera House such as the annual Gala and the Festival of Trees.
  • Recruits, engages and supports a team of volunteers.
  • Works on technical support programs such as the online bidding program for events, the POH website and the ticket purchasing system.
  • Assists with social media and marketing efforts.
  • Conducts tours throughout the Pella Opera House as needed.
  • Answers questions related to the Pella Opera House rental offerings with clear and professional communication skills.
  • Enhances Pella Opera House’s visibility, maintaining a favorable organizational image.
  • Completes other jobs as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, or Hospitality degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years managing events, tradeshows, or educational programs.
  • Excellent communications, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Creative thinker and fast learner, ability to implement ideas effectively.
  • Comfortable giving tours and public speaking.
  • Available to work evenings and weekends as needed.
